This 3/4" O.D. Double D shaft has "D" design on each end. Made from 1018 steel, weld-on. Excellent for steering shafts or other uses.
NOTE: This DD shaft is only milled with flats on both ends for 1" of length of the shaft. It is not milled the entire length of the shaft and therefore, can not be cut to length unless it is going to be welded to a 3/4" round or has new flats milled into the end. Please see Flaming River DD shaft if fully machined DD shaft is required. View all available lengths here. |

Nurburgring sold to German parts maker Capricorn Group for £83.5 million
Thu, 13 Mar 2014The Nurburgring has been saved from bankruptcy The Nurburgring complex in Germany – home to many a car makers test centre and beloved of wannabe racers – has been saved from bankruptcy with an £83.5 million deal. German parts maker Capricorn Group have stumped up over £83.5 million to buy the Nurburgring complex which includes the famous 13 mile North Loop Track as well as the Grand Prix Circuit and have committed to spending and additional £21 million to further develop and improve the site. The Nurburgring track fell in to bankruptcy back in 2012, and it looked for a while as if the whole thing could be closed down, but bids from Capricorn Group and one other have saved the day, with Capricorn winning out with the bigger bid.
McLaren P1 performance figures confirmed

We always knew the 2013 McLaren P1 was quick, but 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-124mph in 6.8 seconds, 0-186mph in 16.5 seconds and a 217mph top speed prove its astonishing pace. And it’ll return exceptional efficiency (given the performance) of 34.0mpg combined with 194g/km CO2.
Royal College of Art Degree Show 2008
Fri, 11 Jul 2008The Vehicle Design Masters program at the RCA held its annual degree show a few weeks ago, showcasing an array of transport designs created by the graduating class of 2008. In all, 18 students - including three PhD graduates - developed projects which dealt with the current issues of accessibility, aerodynamics, environmental impact, ergonomics, legislation, materials, production, safety, and technology, as well as the aesthetic principles of vehicle design. Peter Stevens - the first MA graduate - David Wilkie of Stile Bertone, Alfonso Albaisa of Nissan and Peter Shreyer of Kia were just some of the RCA alumni in attendance.
