SRT CNC Billet Aluminum 2JZ Timing Belt Tensioner Bracket (Still New in bag and never opened) (Paid $299 from Sound Performance) SRT CNC Billet Aluminum 2JZ Timing Belt Tensioner Bracket. This piece is completely redesigned and re-engineered from scratch and not a simple copy of the OEM design like all other aftermarket units. Designed for optimum strength and long life without sacrificing functionality or adding too much stress to the tensioner and timing belt due to added sprung weight. This is a MUST have for ALL 2JZ engines for both 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE. Stock units have been known to fail over time with fatigue and when stressed using upgraded cams, upgraded springs and retainers as well as with increased RPM over stock. Even if you are completely stock and naturally aspirated this is a must have item. The stock cast units has weak points in the design as well as the material fatigues with time. Our Billet Aluminum units are CNC precision machined from aircraft grade Aluminum and our engineering team has redesigned it to add considerable strength to the weak areas of where the stock units fail. Then we went above and beyond and added a precision pressed in brass busing for the pivot bolt to glide on. Why Brass? Because Brass has superior lubricity than most other metals which reduces friction and helps the tensioner react quicker and take up slack, this enables the overall timing of the engine to stay more true. We then went ahead and used a hardened tool steel insert that is slightly longer than the stock unit, this insert will NOT wear out over time and the added length will provide a little more tension which is what is needed for those who are using bigger aggressive cams and higher RPM to reduce vibrations. We used aircraft grade aluminum and not Steel or Chromoly because the use of steel/chromoly makes the units excessively heavy, and the added weight is actually sprung weight that adds a lot of stress to the actual tensioner. The added weight also causes the vibrations to get exaggerated and amplified, these vibrations gets transferred through the belt and ultimately to the cams, and makes it all the way to the valves, thereby effecting the actual timing. The added vibrations also puts extra stress on the tensioner and the timing belt thereby reducing the life of both items. Weights: Stock Cast Unit 130.0g or 4.59 oz. SRT CNC unit 182.8g or 6.45 oz. an increase 40.6% weight Other Aftermarket steel units 329.6~397.7g or 11.64oz~14.04oz an increase of 153.5%~205.9% !!!!! Our units are about 10x stronger than the stock units and is absolutely necessary for all 2JZ engines. 100% MADE IN THE USA (Not only is it made in the USA it is made from raw materials that were made in the USA!) |
