The Valor DDN-888W features full built-in GPS navigation and DVD playback on a high quality 6.9-inch touch screen TFT LCD. An unusual feature is the way the entire LCD screen is fully detachable, providing both security and convenience. The widescreen LCD has full 800x480 resolution, with a total of 384,000 pixels and utilizes a seven position tilt function for maximum viewing satisfaction. Also incorporated into the DDN-888W is Bluetooth connectivity for hands free cell phone functionality and A2DP playback of music as well. The fully featured GPS system uses mapping from Navteq, with the entire USA mapping database stored on a single supplied 4GB SD card, with 11 million points of interest. Because the GPS system is primarily housed in the detachable faceplate, you can remove the faceplate and take it with you on trips as a portable Navigation (Portable Package Sold Separately). Mapping can be viewed in either 2D or 3D modes, and voice guidance is also provided to make finding your destination easy and safe. Plus, there are no worries about running out of storage space for your mapping, because the DDN-888W will support memory cards up to 16GB. The GPS system is driven by a 500MHz processor for high speed routing and automatic rerouting performance

2013 BMW M5 facelift & new M6 get Competition Package

Tue, 21 May 2013

The BMW M5 (left) & M6 with new Competition Packacge But the 2013 BMW M5 – and its coupe sister, the BMW M6 – will also be getting a Competition Package option for 2013, which is probably more interesting than the minor tweaks to the 2013 5 Series. The Competition Package adds more power to both the M5 and M6 – a whole 15bhp, taking it up to 567bhp – enough to improve the 0-62mph by 0.2s on both M5 and M6 as well as re-tuned dampers and springs – which lower ride height on the M5, but not the M6 – stiffer anti-roll bars, new M Diff and an improved Dynamic Mode which should allow you to play a bit more. On the cosmetic front, just like the 5 Series facelift, you’ll have to look quite hard to see what the Competition Package adds, but you do get a black finish on the tail pipes and a slightly different set of 20″ alloys.

Skoda BlueSport Roadster looking likely

Sun, 15 Mar 2009

Skoda looks likely to build a version of the VW BlueSport Concept - The Skoda Roadster. At the time we reported, we thought thought that Skoda’s image might be a little too down-market still for this little Roadster. We thought it more likely that Audi and VW would be the main producers, and maybe Porsche, as an entry-level model.
