Features

Overview: The 9856V 2-way Remote System comes with a control center/valet button/LED, a 5-button two-way transmitter (7856V), and a 5-button one-way transmitter (7656V). The system can be integrated into an existing Viper security system, remote start, or keyless entry system. The remotes have a range of up to 1 mile.

2-way Operation: The 9856V is a 2-way remote system, which means that commands can travel wirelessly from the remote transmitter to the Control Center, and ultimately to the security/remote start system's control module. In a 2-way system, confirmation responses are received by the 2-way remote, but not the 1-way remote.

Button Configuration: The 7856V and 7656V transmitters have 5 buttons with the following configuration (depending upon the capabilities of your system):

  • Arm/Lock: Arms your security system, or locks your car with the push of a button.
  • Disarm/Unlock: Disarms your security system, or unlocks your car with the push of a button.
  • Remote Start: Starts your car's engine and warms up your car.
  • Auxiliary: Opens your trunk and controls other optional functions.
  • Function: Accesses dozens of functions.
Note: The 7856V remote beeps and flashes it LED to confirm each button push, and receives confirmation of commands via sound and LED. The 7656V remote beeps and flashes its LED only to confirm each button push.

Replacement Batteries: The 7856V remotes are powered by a CR2016 battery, while the 7656V remotes have a CR2032 battery. Both batteries are user-replaceable.

Control Center: Included with the 9856V 2-way Remote System is a low-profile Control Center with a valet button and a bright blue status LED. Typically, the Control Center is mounted high and centered on the windshield. You can mount it either vertically or horizontally. A 10' cable is included for wiring the Control Center to the control module of the security/remote start system. An adapter cable is also included for control modules with 4-pin control center ports. Thu, 25 Oct 2007

By Jonny Smith Motor Shows 25 October 2007 11:05 What is the point of this contraption exactly? Toyota has a habit of building mind boggling concept cars that fire up the public imagination and then deliver forgettable production dross. The 1/X may just change that.

Volvo S60 Concept car (2008): first official photos

Mon, 24 Nov 2008

By Simon Stiel First Official Pictures 24 November 2008 11:41 Volvo today releases the first exterior photograph of its new S60 Concept car that will appear at the Detroit motor show in January 2009 – ahead of a showroom launch in 2010. Last month, teaser photographs revealed the interior of the S60 concept car, but now we’ve got a glimpse of its exterior lurking in the shadows. Some have criticised the S60 for looking too similar to the S80 and other Volvos and this new model is designed to address that. Volvo is seeking a racier image and, we hear, is setting its sights on the Audi A4 and BMW 3-series (a task its predecessor never cracked).
