Opel Ampera plug-in hybrid design sketches leak out
Thu, 19 Feb 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 19 February 2009 09:28 These pictures allegedly reveal the production-spec Opel/Vauxhall Ampera a fortnight ahead of its Geneva show debut. A Spanish website claims to have stumbled across the technical design sketches at a European patent office and – if authentic – they spill the beans on the new plug-in hybrid electric concept car that’s bound for a showroom near you within two years. The Ampera is Opel/Vauxhall’s version of the Chevrolet Volt, the breakthrough car that could just save GM if it survives its current crisis.
Chevrolet Miray (2011) concept first official pictures
Thu, 31 Mar 2011Chevrolet has unveiled the Miray hybrid speedster concept today at the 2011 Seoul motor show in Korea. Why on earth wasn't the Chevrolet Miray at the 2011 Geneva motor show!? Good question. The exciting-looking Miray would certainly have drawn a larger crowd than the Cruze hatchback. But don't forget that GM Korea (formerly Daewoo, and bought by GM in 2001) develops many of Chevrolet's products these days.
Driven: Delta Motorsport E-4

Fifteen years ago, if asked to think about the low-volume sector of the British motor industry, the Rover V8 and tubular steel space frames would immediately have come to mind, along with a sizeable dose of fiberglass. Today a new wave of companies are exploring new and ingenious manufacturing, design and technologies.
