The Lexus IS 200d Advance

No, not because it’s a Lexus – although the Lexus fixtures, fittings and build quality do make it score highly on many a car buyer’s radar – but because it’s NOT got Hobson’s choice on the engine front. You can actually opt for a real ICE engine and – shock, horror – a proper gearbox.

Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition - more horses
Vauxhall has decided it’s time to turn up the wick on the Corsa VXR, so they’ve had a fiddle and a tweak and managed to coax 202bhp out of its 1.6-litre 4-pot turbo. That’s an extra 13bhp. It’s not just the power that’s been increased, so has the twist; the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition gets an extra 11lb/ft of torque to take it up to 207lb/ft.

BMW 320d ED Review
Try as hard as we can we can find precious little wrong with the BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics. About the only thing we can come up with that’s specific to the 320d ED is the longer final drive. We’ve no doubt it plays its part in achieving the economy and emissions on offer, but it does mean changing gear on motorways when baulked.
