Mustang Monday: 1985 Mustang GT is more than just a car

Thu, 28 Nov 2013

The “Real Drivers” series from hittingredline.com takes a look at interesting cars and their equally interesting owners. These aren't always crazy exotics or 1,000-hp pavement-burners (though sometimes they are), but we found this particular episode about a 1985 Ford Mustang GT drag racer owned by a man named Michael Murphy a real heart-string tugger. Frankfurt 2011: VW Nils EV Go-Kart Video

Sat, 17 Sep 2011

VW Nils revealed at Frankfurt There have been quite a few of these very small, go-kart-style urban commuter cars cropping up of late, but perhaps the Volkswagen Nils is the most promising. The most promising because if – and it’s a very big if – commuters take to the idea of a grown-up version of a soap-box Kart with an engine for getting to work, the VW Nils will possibly offer the best combination of practicality, refinement and cost. Yes, there’s the Audi Urban Concept to consider, but that will be more expensive (there’s a reason Audi makes VW 40% of its profits), so if commuters do actually find appeal in this route then the Nils is probably the front-runner.

Bridgestone reinvents the wheel

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

THE WHEEL is being reinvented with the development of an airless tyre for cars that could put an end to punctures and be kinder to the environment. Currently being developed by Bridgestone, the Air-Free Concept Tyre has an exterior tread that looks normal but inside there are plastic spokes that support the outer casing. This does away with the need to pump up the tyres, which means a puncture is no longer a problem as the tyre cannot deflate.
