That fad went away for a while, but now its back and we have the first SUV in a generation from a maker of Italian exotica – the Maserati Kubang SUV – and this video of the Kubang on the road. Interestingly, although the Kubang is supposedly the start of this video, it only turns up in the final third, with the first two thirds dedicated to showcasing Maserati’s performance pedigree – past and present.

Update: The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 has now been officially revealed. The latest version of the Porsche 911 (Porsche 911) arrived at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and Porsche are planning to reveal the four wheel drive versions – the Porsche 911 $ and 4S, Coupe and cabriolet – at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

There’s a seven-speed twin-clutch transmission, a 454bhp 4.3-litre V8 with direct injection, a folding metal roof and space for four. Right, concrete numbers on the Ferrari California please… The engine is a 4300cc V8, using the existing block from the F430 but with a new head to accommodate direct injection. It’s the first time Ferrari has used DI and helps the California produce 454bhp at a heady 7500rpm.
