Honda designers talk about Tokyo concepts
Tue, 13 Dec 2011With the Tokyo motor show now firmly in our rear view mirrors, Honda has made us aware of a new addition to its website that highlights the numerous concepts the Japanese company had on show at the exhibition. Answering the question: ‘ What makes people feel good?' Honda designers take us through each of the seven concepts showcased at the Tokyo show, including the RC-E electric motorcycle; E-Canopy three-wheeled scooter; MotorCompo folding scooter; TownWalker mobility vehicle; AC-X show car; Micro Commuter Concept and the EV-Ster electric roadster. Mercedes AMG engine guru to join VW
Fri, 18 Jan 2013The man credited with development of Mercedes-Benz AMG's latest line of high performance gasoline engines, Friedrich Eichler, has been lured to the Volkswagen Group, where he will take up an as yet unspecified position this summer, sources with knowledge of the move tell Autoweek. Eichler, who joined AMG after working his way up through the ranks at Porsche, was instrumental in the development of AMG's naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, twin-turbocharged and naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 and twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 that powers the Pagani Huayra. Friedrich Eichler also developed turbocharged four-cylinder engines for upcoming Mercedes AMG cars.

Mon, 23 Nov 2009Cadillac will launch the CTS Coupe in Spring 2010 Having let the cat out of the bag over plans for a range-topping Cadillac CTS-V Coupe (and the CTS-V Wagon) the other day, GM has now released official detail of its less powerful sibling, the CTS Coupe, which will launch in the Spring of 2010, so as is American convention we should probably call it the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe (the American car industy is as bad as the fashion industry – everything is ‘Next Year’). The CTS Coupe joins the Saloon (Sedan) and Estate (Wagon) to complete the three model lineup for the CTS, and is by far the best looking of the bunch, although to be fair both the saloon and estate are attractive in a bold, American kind of way. Sitting a couple of inches lower than the saloon, the Coupe is also a couple of inches shorter.
