BMW designer Chapman joins Hyundai Motor America

Former BMW AG designer Christopher Chapman has been named chief designer for Hyundai Motor America, effective Jan. 3. He will lead new vehicle and concept design at the Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, Calif.

Kia four-door sports sedan concept

Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter." Senna to be honoured by Gran Turismo

FORMULA 1 legend Ayrton Senna is to be honoured by PlayStation franchise phenomenon Gran Turismo to coincide with the 20th anniversary of his death. May 2014 will see the milestone marked by the inclusion of Senna and one of his cars within Gran Turismo 6, after special instruction from the game’s creator and enduring Senna fan, Kazunori Yamauchi. “There were two things that I learned from Ayrton Senna,” he said at the game’s international launch at the Ascari Race Resort in Spain.
