Greetings fellow Z-Car enthusiasts! Up for consideration is this beautiful, polished 280ZX Turbo Airflow meter!
This beautiful part is original equipment for Nissan/Datsun 280ZX, Turbo models only 81-83....and i believe it is also for the First gen Pulsar Turbo. It will work in any and all 280ZX Turbos, both automatics & the 82/83 5 Speed.

I had this professionally polished years ago (expensive) to go into my 280ZX Turbo conversion, but have since decided to go stand alone, so this never got used and it is time to find it a new home. It is pretty much to me show quality.

The VR plate, variable resistor, is in perfect shape and the taper has basically no wear. The ATS (Air Temperature Sensor) which is the little plastic bulb that protrudes in the front, inside the meter, is tested and reads as it should.

In all my years in working on 280ZX's, at specialty shops catering only to Z's, this was probably the most mis-diagnosed part when things went wrong with the Fuel Injection. It almost always was actually an issue with the pins on the ECU that dealt with the AFM, and not the AFM itself. So, I will gladly provide the buyer with useful information on how to more accurately tune the AFM with an accurate digital voltage meter. The Turbo version AFM operates in reverse of its non-turbo counterpart. Its return voltage reads down as airflow goes up. It is fed a 5VDC reference voltage then the first resistor before the taper drops this voltage to around 4.8, so as you swing the door from it's fully closed position to its fully open position you should get a linear voltage drop from 4.8 to about .10VDC at full open. If the measurement is anything above this the computer will never know that the engine is in full boost, and a lean condition and or inaccurate timing curves will result and the engine will never make the power, spit, sputter, hesitate and or ping.

I will give the winning bidder any info on how to properly check these readings. Trying to take readings with just an ohm meter is only half the story and you will NEVER be able to properly diagnose an AFM with just impedance.

That said, this AFM is absolutely perfect, beautiful and working, but might require a little spring tension adjustment on the flapper door once installed in your vehicle.

It is also sold as-is, no returns.

Fisker Karma Review Video

Fisker Karma Review Video Finally, after a rather lengthy wait, the Fisker Karma is making its way in to the hands of real customers. And real cars means the opportunity to review the Karma, something a US Fisker dealer has put on video. Of course, a video review of Henrik Fisker’s baby from a franchised dealer – even when they get a pro driver to do it – is perhaps never going to be the most objective piece of reporting ever seen, but it does at least give us the opportunity for a real-world view of the Karma.
