Volvo S60 DRIVe & V60 DRIVe launch
Tue, 22 Feb 2011The Volvo V60 DRIVe This week we’re out playing with a Volvo DRIVe model, although our car is the S40 DRIVe. DRIVe models are Volvo’s push at all things green (or all things blue if you’re German) and take a regular Volvo and eco the bejesus out of it with stuff like stop-start, low rolling resistance tyres and the plethora of eco-toys car makers use to make the headline economy and emissions unbelievable. The result is a Volvo that drives pretty much the same as any Volvo but which can – as long as you play the eco-driving game – run almost on fresh air, and because cars like this are designed to hit emissions targets on official cycles, they’re also good on stuff like VED and BIK. And if the S40 DRIVe we’ve got this week is anything to go by, you can still drive with enthusiasm and enjoy it as long as you don’t mind the economy suffering.
Vauxhall Mokka Tech Line targets company car drivers
Mon, 11 Jun 2012Vauxhall is adding a fourth trim level to the Mokka compact SUV with the Tech Line trim aimed at company car drivers for low P11D and BIK. There was a time when company cars were a great perk and taxed sensibly. But that has now loing gone – to the detriment of the car industry and the company car driver – with all fixated on P11D and BIK rates.
30% of drivers would do a runner after a parking scrape
Fri, 01 Aug 2014Almost a third of drivers would consider leaving the scene of an accident if only minor damage was caused – while another 4% said they’d do a runner even after a more serious collision. The shocking stats come from a survey of over 2,000 people commissioned by ContractHireAndLeasing.com. The world’s weirdest car crashes revealed Cheapest cars to insure for 17-18 year olds The results show that honesty amongst drivers varies depending on their age and location.
