  CAR magazine is reporting live from the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 - and we'll be updating this page with photos, news and snippets from Goodwood House and the famous hillclimb. Mercedes-Benz is the title sponsor at the Festival of Speed in 2014 - and so gets bragging rights to design the sculpture outside Goodwood House.

Lamborghini Aventador

A clear evolution of both the Murcielago and the Reventon, the Aventador dissapointed and wowed in equal measure at its unveiling. Showcasing Lamborghini's newfound love for carbon fiber as well as an exhaustive list of new technologies for their road cars – such as a pushrod suspension – the Aventador certainly has a supercar-style spec sheet. Mercedes U.S. boss ‘excused' from his duties

Mercedes-Benz U.S. chief has been “excused” from his duties effective immediately, according to a Daimler spokesman. Ernst Lieb, 56, had held the position since 2006.
