PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE ORDERING
* AUCTION IS FOR THE ADAPTER ,O-RING'S BARB FITTINGS,SEALING WASHERS, MOUNTING BOLTS (8.8 grade) AND WASHERS ONLY , you supply oil cooler and hoses . Many 08-13 rogue's 11-14 juke's and 07-12 sentra's start whining when the cvt transmission gets hot , but may overheat and go into a "limp mode" when driving on the highway on a warm/hot day . This happened to me going up a highway mountain pass on a warm day. dangerous ? yes, Felt like I was in my old 66 mustang with a bad carb, would not go faster than 45 mph! I looked into a factory solution ,but costed around 600$ ,SO I had a buddy machine me these plates, they are CNC machined from high quality 6061 aluminum , with VITON o-rings. This plate goes between the factory cvt warmer and the cvt transmission . The adapter has 2, 3/8 inch diameter barbs to route to an auxiliary front mounted oil heat exchanger . NOW ,MY ROGUE RUNS GREAT! Runs quieter and doesnt start whining when warm, and no "limp mode" of course ! The purpose of this plate is to reroute the hot cvt transmission fluid to an external cooler, which can be mounted in front of the radiator facing the lower bumper opening. SOME rogue's,jukes and sentra CVT's have a factory warmer with 4 tubes,and a front mounted heat exchanger (tow option?) make sure your vehicle ONLY has the(2) 1/2 inch diameter tubes coming out of it to use this adapter(like in the 6th picture, placed over my adapter ) Utilizing this plate will require you to buy a hayden 678 trans cooler (as i did) or similar. The factory rogue brackets (not included)line up almost perfectly with the 678 hayden holes!(for rogue only) If you live in areas where it gets down to very low temps, you may need to also purchase a thermostatic oil cooler bypass ,such as the trucool cooler bypass. * MAKE SURE SURFACES ARE CLEAN BEFORE INSTALLING AND THAT SMALL AND LARGE O-RINGS ARE PERFECTLY IN PLACE. * You may need to add 1/2 quart or so of nissan cvt fluid to make up for the increased capacity when installing a front mounted cooler. Very little cvt fluid comes out when unbolting the factory cooler/warmer plate. The 1/2 inch water coolant hoses do not need to be disconnected ,but the clamps may need to be loosened to give a little slack ,to allow the adapter to go in between factory warmer and cvt transmission . It is easiest to lift the front right of the rogue,juke or sentra and work from the driver's side fenderwell. The battery and bracket need to be removed for access as well ,not a hard job . bumper may need to be removed for mounting cooler ,but I didnt have to. * TOP BARB IS THE OIL RETURN *make sure to check cvt fluid level and coolant levels after finishing installation following nissan's procedures. I used factory oil cooler brackets ,21613jm000 and 21613jm00a (not included) pushed lower up a little to line up with the hayden cooler. used 3 nylon spacers made by everbilt part #595 769 to serve as standoffs to clear bracket bends. Also used everbilt 6mm -1.0x25mm bolts to mount cooler to brackets These are just suggestions for installation on a ROGUE , you can mount the cooler any way you like ,just make sure it gets forced air from the bumper openings. The hard part, the adapter is already done for you. purchase one today before the weather warms up ,and avoid a ruined trip and related costs. lowers cvt temps around 30 degrees Fahrenheit !
