Nissan and Fiat marketing heads trade insults over 'visual pollution'

Thu, 06 Dec 2012

A war of words has erupted between Fiat and Nissan's marketing departments over their electric vehicle designs, the Leaf and the 500e. Matt Davis, head of Fiat product marketing, told Bloomberg News before the launch of its all-electric 500e at the Los Angeles show last week that "ugliness is probably one of the worst forms of pollution," seen as an indirect attack on Nissan's electric offering. Alfa Romeo 4C

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

The production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C will make its debut at next month's Geneva motor show, two years after the concept appeared. Largely unchanged from the prototype, the 4C retains its mid-engined layout, short and wide proportions (less than 4,000mm long, 2,000mm wide, 1,180mm high and a 2,400mm wheelbase) and broadly similar surfacing. The changes appear to be more focused around productionized details.

Porsche Museum opens 911 Identity exhibition

Wed, 01 Feb 2012

As the seventh-generation Porsche 911 hits the market, the Porsche Museum is honoring its brand-defining model with a new exhibition called 911 Identity. The display in the company's Stuttgart museum highlights each generation of 911, from the 1963 original through to the 2012 991, offering facts, figures and artifacts from their year of launch. As well as road going variants of the 911, motor sport versions are on show, from the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Safari, through to the current 911 GT3R Hybrid, via the fearsome 935s of the 1970s and '80s.
