Toyota iQ and Urban Cruiser (2008): first official pictures

Wed, 13 Feb 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 13 February 2008 12:28 Toyota hasn’t bottled it, thank goodness. This first photograph of the iQ shows that the production version of this fascinating mini has kept all the cheeky charm of last year’s show car, which won CAR’s concept car of the year gong. Toyota GT86 Drift Sprint with Keiichi Tsuchiya

Mon, 23 Jul 2012

The Toyota GT86 gets another dose of ‘Cheap Fun’ PR with the Drift Sprint competition featuring Keiichi Tsuchiya. Keiichi Tsuchiya is the ‘Drift King’ with his Toyota AE86 sliding and squirming in balletic slides as he makes it dance in a way cars just don’t. So it makes sense to get Keiichi Tsuchiya in to the driving seat of the new Toyota GT86 to show that an affordable sports car from Toyota can be a whole bunch of fun in ways that more powerful cars just aren’t.

2015 Subaru WRX debuts at Los Angeles Auto Show

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

If you loved the rakish WRX concept that bowed in New York earlier this year, the production 2015 WRX, which debuted today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, may be a slight downer: decidedly less boy-racer than its predecessors, its sculpted fender flares and unique sheetmetal only slightly disguise its Impreza rootstock. But the WRX has always been more about performance than style, anyway, and Subaru says the new car will top its predecessor on that front. The '14 WRX's 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer-four squeezes out 268 hp and 258 lb-ft -- just a little bit more than the outgoing 2.5-liter turbo-equipped car.
