The YakBitz Yakker sends the NMEA 0183 data from your Fish Finder/GPS/Chart Plotter/AIS Receiver etc to your Wifi enabled Phone/Tablet/PC. This enables navigation software like Navionics, OpenCPN etc to use your depth and location data. Very simple to connect and set up. Just connect 3 wires as shown below: GPS etc. YAKKER 12V --------------- 12V GND ------------ GND Tx (Data Out) ---- Rx Once powered up the YAKKER creates a WiFi hotspot. Connect to this with your Wifi Phone/Tablet etc using the default password of 12345678. Next start your browser and enter 192.168.4.1 into the address bar to get the setup screen shown above. Porsche Macan caught on video
Wed, 01 Aug 2012The Porsche Macan – a Porsche Cayenne on a boil wash – has been spied out testing and caught on video. We’ve seen spy photos of the Porsche Macan before – Porsche’s take on the Audi Q5 – and they look more like a cut down Cayenne being used as a mule for the Macan’s underpinnings than an actual Macan. But it seems that the shots so far are actually the Macan as it’s heading for production, which means Porsche has, perhaps unsurprisingly, chosen the 911 school of car design as its inspiration for the Macan and just stuck a Cayenne on a boil wash.

A quality European alternative with Italian flair was the logic. But within a month of the announcement that the US was to be beguiled by Alfas once more came the news that the MiTo wouldn’t be going on the American sojourn.

And he’s put together a version of SIARPC (last time – Star In A Reasonably Priced Car) using a specially created Focus BEV. Not the Focus BEV we saw at Frankfurt last week, but one put together by Ford US based on a German Focus ST.
