Performance-Tuned PCM for Cadillac Northstar V8 - 1996-1999 and Oldsmobile Aurora - 1996-1999

Will fit Cadillac Deville, Concours, Seville SLS and STS, Eldorado and ETC (Touring Coupe).

The changes in the tuning are as follows:

-Remove speed limiters and rev limiters (rev limiter in park is limited to 6300RPM - that's the max we can change it to)
-Advance ignition timing by 3 degrees
-Enable 1st gear starts with traction control turned off (Cadillacs Only, Auroras didn't have this issue)
-Remove all torque management, unleashing all of the power the engine has
-Lower the cooling fan on/off temps so the engine stays a bit cooler in traffic and hard driving conditions- thus potentially extending the life of your engine
-Change power enrich to come on after a 1 second delay when you mash the throttle instead of 10 seconds (10 seconds is factory setting)
-Enriching the fuel mixture ONLY when power enrich is commanded for more power. Will not affect your fuel economy if you drive normally.
-Firm up the shifts just a little bit - not so they're terribly harsh, just so they're a bit more pronounced

There is a 14 day return policy from time of ordering, that if you're not happy with the tune for whatever reason; just send the PCM back in working condition and undamaged, we will refund your money except for $40 to cover shipping and handling. After 14 days there is no returns, no exceptions. We will need your vehicle's VIN# to program the PCM to work with your car- we cannot ship until we have that. We ship once or twice per week from Pembina, North Dakota.

We will buy your old, programmable PCM core for $25 - just send it back to the following address:

Pembina, ND 58271

We will send you a paypal payment for $25 once we verify the PCM can be programmed (about a week after delivery usually)

This tuning ability was developed by Jake & his team @ Northstar Performance. Other year Cadillacs we cannot offer any tuning for yet, although we plan to. The last two photos show a screenshot of our tuning software that we have.

We can also tune a Northstar PCM to stock for a fee of $50.00 + shipping (PCM not included). Canadian and international customers please contact us directly.

Buick Verano

Thu, 06 Jan 2011

The Buick Verano will become the GM brand's smallest model when launched at the upcoming NAIAS in Detroit. Based on the same Delta II platform as the Chevrolet Cruze and Opel/Vauxhall Astra, it is also visually related to the latter, albeit to a lesser degree than its larger Regal sibling is to the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia. The upper-C-segment Verano's DRG features the familiar 'waterfall' grille, finished in black chrome, blue-lensed projector headlamps and requisite portholes atop its hood.

Mazda Minagi Concept – Mazda CX-5 – leaks ahead of Geneva

Tue, 18 Jan 2011

The Mazda Minagi Concept - will become the Mazda CX-5 The Mazda Minagi Concept is a compact SUV concept Mazda are planning on taking to Geneva in March. Fortunately, the name won’t stick when the Minagi goes in to production. Instead, this will be the Mazda CX-5. With a front end that pays homage to the Mazda Shinari Concept (the concept that points the way to the Mazda RX-9) and a back end that seems to find inspiration in the Hyundai ix35, the Minagi is Mazda’s answer to the compact SUVs from Ford, Hyundai, Audi and VW.

New 2013 Nissan Note gets more appealing

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

The new Nissan Note has turned in to a Ford Fiesta basher as Nissan turn the Note from a boring little MPV in to a convincing small hatch. We did think the Invitation would be watered down to produce a slightly titivated new Note for production, but much of the style has found its way through in to the new Note – which we first saw in the JDM Nissan Note last summer – and the Note now looks set to take on proper compact hatches like the Ford Fiesta. The nose of the new Note is now more convincing – with new headlights and grill – and the doors get a great big feature crease that looks like a giant smoothing iron has stamped its mark, although Nissan say it’s a ‘Squash Line’  whose ‘angles were inspired by the flight of a fast moving squash ball travelling around a court’.
