ITEM: This is for a new old stock (NOS) outside locking door handle for a 1934 passenger car (not truck). (I have a second one of these for sale -- this is actually better than the one from a couple of weeks ago). Includes two NOS original keys with matching number to the handle. Lock mechanism works smoothly. The mechanism is a little snug - I did put a couple drops of WD 40 on the key way to allow the key to go in without sticking. I also touched up the edges of the key just a little with emory cloth to help reduce the sharp edges.
This is a rare locking mechanism. I believe this double-sided key way was used only in 1934 - and possibly for a portion of 1935. The lock is made by Briggs and Stratton (abbreviated BASCO) - official GM supplier. The keys have little T-shaped "knock offs" on the tops of the keys that have the GM key number on them. (These knock-offs were the forerunner of the knock-outs that showed up in 1935.) Even finding these keys in NOS condition can be difficult. Please look at the photos. CONDITION: The condition NOS. Lock mechanism works very good. The chrome is in outstanding condition for the age. Generally a great HTF door handle in excellent condition - over 80 years old. Mon, 16 Jan 2012MINI JCW & Cooper S recalled Following on from the US MINI Recall, MINI UK is to recall 29,000 MINI Cooper S and MINI JCW models to fix a faulty circuit board. Yesterday we reported that MINI in the US is to recall 89,000 MINI Coopers to fix a faulty circuit board on the turbo’s auxiliary water pump, and we now learn the recall will be worldwide – although is DOESN’T include the MINI Cooper. It seems the US authorities got it all in a bit of a muddle and included the MINI Cooper in the recall announcement, even though it doesn’t have a turbo and the recall relates to a potentially faulty circuit board on the auxiliary water pumps that cool the turbos.

Vauxhall heads off-road with Insignia Country Tourer
Thu, 26 Sep 2013VAUXHALL'S new Insignia Country Tourer will cost from £25,349 when it arrives in the UK in January hot on the heels of the revised Insignia hatch and estate models. The Country Tourer is a soft-roader version of the Insignia Sports Tourer estate model and has an added 30mm of ground clearance, as well as front and rear underbody protection to help on rough tracks. Vauxhall has also fitted the car with extra protective covers for the wheelarches and body sides.
