The VW Tiguan Match - replaces the Tiguan SE Volkswagen’s compact crossover/suv/cuv – the VW Tiguan – has been with us a while now, so as is the way with all product – from soap to supercars – it’s time to tweak the offerings and repackage so the buyer thinks they’re getting more/better/something new for their hard earned cash. It’s called Marketing. So we now get the Volkswagen Tiguan Match replacing the previous Tiguan SE trim.

Lamborghini LP700-4 (2011): the rolling chassis

Wed, 23 Feb 2011

Lamborghini continues the long drip-feed on the new V12 supercar replacement for the Murcielago with this first picture of the carbonfibre rolling chassis. In this week's edition of motor show teaser photography, Lamborghini has started with a naked LP700-4 chassis, prior to next week's reveal of the fully clothed new V12 supercar.  You can clearly see the new pushrod suspension, the carbonfibre chassis, subframes snd the suitably enormous wheel and tyre package.    None at this point. CAR's Gavin Green has driven one of the prototypes (see the January 2011 edition) but it will be at next week's 2011 Geneva motor show where the world gets its first clear look at the new Lamborghini.

VW Cross Polo (2010) Revealed

Fri, 19 Feb 2010

The VW Cross Polo will debut at the Geneva Motor Show No, it’s not an angry version of the 2010 Volkswagen Polo but VW’s fake off-road version of the latest Polo designed to appeal to those who want a rufty-tufty car to cope with the demands of the Urban Jungle. The Cross Polo (we’d expected it to be the ‘CrossPolo’ as the Germans like to run words together, like ‘BlueEfficiency’ or EfficientDynamics, but the graphics on the Polo make it clear it’s the ‘Cross Polo’) is the latest version of the 2010 Polo to be revealed. Just this week we’ve had the 2010 Polo GTI and the 2010 VW Polo BlueMotion (see – it’s those joined together names again) and the Cross Polo makes the hat trick for pre-Geneva.
