Nos 1962 - 1968 Oldsmobile Olds F-85 W30 Cutlass 442 Hurst Olds Protect-o-plates on 2040-parts.com
Homer Glen, Illinois, United States
Up for auction is one new set of two (2) NOS Keyes-Davis style 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 or 1968 Oldsmobile Protect-O-Plates as used in the Oldsmobile Warranty books in these years. After careful research and finally finding a small quantity of these NOS plates I can offer these plates embossed with the original Addressograph style 35 characters exactly as done by Oldsmobile in 1962 through and including 1966. In 1967 and 1968 Oldsmobile slightly changes how the information on these plates was applied. The vehicle information was still embossed on the one plate and the owner's information was applied using a Dymo labeler with a special GM reverse image wheel using special GM label tape. I can offer this 1967 and 1968 type too. In 1968 Oldsmobile, (as well as other GM makes) had the warranty books perforated with the VIN numbers punched into all but the last page. I am considering reproducing these one year only Oldsmobile warranty books if there is enough demand, but for now I can make a duplicate cover of your 1968 Oldsmobile Warranty book with the 13 VIN characters punched. Again, my supply is very limited. In 1968 Oldsmobile (Other GM Divisions too) further complicated matters by using these Keyes-Davis plates on LANSING BUILT CARS ONLY. Other plants used the larger one piece Addressograph type plates as shown in the second photo. I do have a very few of this style plate, but they are not NOS Addressograph plates. In this auction you will receive two Keyes-Davis NOS plates embossed or embossed and labeled for 1967 and 1968 per your information. You must provide all the information needed to process your order. I can assist with questions, but cannot guarantee I know the answer. If you want a 1968 cover copy with your VIN punched there is an additional $25.00 charge thru Pay Pal. Please ask any and all questions before purchasing a set of these plates. Please NOTE: The 1962, '65, 66, 67 and 68 Warranty books pictured are not included in this auction. They are pictured for reference information only. Thank you for looking and kindly check out my other auctions.

Vauxhall Monza concept (2013) the new high-tech coupe revealed
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Vauxhall will unveil its new Monza coupe concept at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2013, exactly 36 years after the original Monza was revealed at the very same event. This sleek new Vauxhall isn’t a retro throwback though – it sports a cutting-edge gas/electric powertrain that promises to be even more frugal than Vauxhall’s own 235mpg Ampera. So the new Monza shows the future of Vauxhall, does it?

Mercedes fixes diesel injector problems
Thu, 11 Oct 2012Mercedes say that a new injector system for C Class and E Class diesels with the OM651 engine have now been fixed. So extensive was the problem that many owners were waiting months for their cars to be fixed as Mercedes struggled with a mounting pile of broken cars and injectors that were failing. Mercedes tell us that the problem was fixed with the release of new injectors later in 2010, but Cars UK readers have continued to complain about their cars needing multiple visits to dealers with injectors failing multiple times (that original story garnered more than 500 comments from disgruntled Mercedes owners).
