Fri, 13 Jul 2012PSA Peugeot Citroen has revealed it is to close one factory, cut job numbers elsewhere and shed a total of 8,000 jobs as demand for its cars dwindles. When we reported last year that Peugeot Citroen were planning to idle their plant in Trnava, Western Slovakia we said that this was just the tip of the iceberg for Peugeot Citroen, and that they would have to take far more drastic action if they were to survive. They must have been listening.
XFR Jag the fastest ever
Tue, 13 Jan 2009They took with them the usual holiday toys, but they remembered to pack a nice new Jaguar XFR, with a few mods necessary to run at Bonneville (roll cage, fire extinguishers, etc). They had a little fiddle with the ECU to derestrict it (and yield 600bhp) but, it is claimed, made no further mods apart from adding a spoiler at the back to stop the XFR taking off on the Salt Flats’ wide open spaces. L'argus European Design Competition 2004 announced
Mon, 05 Jul 2004French magazine L'argus de l'automobile has launched its 3rd European Design Competition , with the theme: "Imagine the convertible utility vehicle" The competition has been run since 2002, asking students at European design schools to design original utility vehicles. The 2003 competition recieved more than 350 submissions from students of Europe's best schools of art and design. This year there are two major new features: extension of the competition to design students in the new European Union countries, and greater freedom for entrants, with a theme allowing more room for creativity.
