NOS New Old Stock Lower Adjustable Ball Joint Chevrolet, Corvette, Corvair Truck Atlas Brand A-691 A691

I think Atlas may have been brand sold in old Standard Oil service stations. I believe these parts are from the early 1970s. Box says "Made in USA".

NOTE: My supply of this ball joint is just about depleted and since I got these years ago, no means to replace; once they're gone, that's it, so take advantage of this good deal on this vintage part.

Supersession List from Moog Chassis Parts Cross Reference Book dated 1-81 shows K-6037 as replacement for K-691.

Info from MOOG Parts List for Vehicle Applications 1939-1959 indicates the following for K691:

  • Lower Adjustable Ball Joint
  • 1958 1959 Chevrolet All Models

Info from MOOG Parts List for Vehicle Applications 1960-1970 indicates the following for K6037:

  • Lower Ball Joint High Performance Manual Adjustable
  • 1960 1961 1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967 1968 1969 1970 Chevrolet All Models
  • 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967 1968 1969 1970 Corvette All Models
  • 1961 1962 1963 1964 1965 Corvair Truck R1200 Series Forward Control Models
Info from MOOG Parts List for Vehicle Applications Vol 3 from 1961 (rev October 1976) indicates the following for K6037:
  • Lower Ball Joint High Performance Manual Adjustable
  • 1971 1972 1973 1974 1975 1976 Corvette All Models

I don't have official parts reference so please verify with your sources that this is the right part number for your model and year car.  Since my books only go up to 1976 it may very well be for other models and years too but can't confirm that. Have seen other info that indicates 6037 may go up into the year 1982. Believe the corresponding MOOG number is K-691 K691 and then replacement number is K-6037.

Email me with any questions or if you would like additional photos. The photo you are seeing is actual part being sold. There may be a small amount of surface rust and the box is old and dirty and not in very good shape. WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).

Will combine shipping on ball joints. Please wait for me to send invoice with updated shipping charges.

Honda recalls sedans for power-steering issue

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

Honda has expanded a recall of the Honda Accord and Acura TL sedans that now affects more than a half-million vehicles for a problem with hoses that connect the power steering. Honda says that prolonged exposure to high temperatures could cause the power-steering hoses to crack. The fluid could leak onto a hot catalytic converter, leading to a fire.

Lotus Evora S GP Edition: Lotus evokes its GP history

Wed, 12 Oct 2011

Lotus Evora S GP Edition - just 3 being built. There was a time when the tobacco giants were seemingly single-handedly responsible for sports sponsorship, and perhaps the most evocative memory of that is the John Player Special F1 cars from Lotus. And now they’re back – in a sense – with the Lotus Evora S GP Edition.
