You are bidding on a New Old Stock Amco Accessory Luggage Rack for Austin Healey Sprite Mark II, III, and IV, and MG Midget Mark I, II, and III cars. This is a period accessory made by the company that made what were considered factory accessories by British Leyland and BMC. The rack is in excellent condition, with much of the cosmoline from Amco still on it. It mounts by drilling holes, and there are no screws included. You can get them at the local hardware store. Why settle for less than NOS?

Ford Fiesta eWheelDrive gets wheel hub electric motors

The Ford Fiesta eWheelDrive – a driveable research vehicle built by Ford and German specialists Schaeffler – may be a regular supermini in size, but it points towards a potential future EV which is much more compact and very manoeuvrable. Ford has taken a regular Fiesta and dumped its powertrain, replacing it with a battery bank where the engine would be and fitted a pair of in-hub electric motors on the rear wheels. But the plan is to build new cars with the batteries under the floor which frees up the space under the bonnet which can then be all but removed to create a very compact urban car that still has space for four.

AutoWeek Design Forum: McLaren evolves with carbon fiber

McLaren Automotive design boss Frank Stephenson detailed his company's transformation from strictly racing to producing road-going models on Thursday at the AutoWeek Design Forum. McLaren is launching the highly anticipated MP4-12C this year, and the company has been hard at work refining the use of carbon fiber, which it pioneered in the iconic McLaren F1. The company cut the amount of time required to design a carbon-fiber tub from 3,000 hours for the F1 to a mere four hours for the MP4-12C.

Daimler & Linde are investing in Hydrogen refuelling stations in nGermany The first real world hydrogen powered cars are just starting to hit roads in Europe, and probably the biggest obstacle to their success is a comprehensive refuelling network. But attempts to start to address that problem have now been announced in the UK and Germany. In the UK, the government is investing £11 million – part-funded by industry – to create new hydrogen filling stations in the UK in the next year.
