Amco called these grille guards to prevent confusion with bumper guards. They were designed to protect the rear of the car. The chrome is beautiful and has some cosmoline still on it, and comes with the hardware and instructions. It is mint. Amco was the premier maker of sports car accessories in the 1960's through the 1980's. They made shift knobs, grille and rear bumper guards, and floor mats that were considered genuine British Leyland Accessories for MG, Triumph, Jaguar, Austin, and Land Rover, as well as Datsun (Nissan), Toyota, Porsche, VW, Sunbeam, Toyota, Honda, English Ford and American cars. New Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale arrives early
Sat, 22 Sep 2012The 2013 Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale – the drop-top version of the GranTurismo MC Stradale - revealed ahead of Paris 2012. The 2013 Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale falls in to the latter camp – Maserati hasn’t revealed the cabrio MC Stradale out in to the wild officially, but the photos have leaked on to the interwebs in Russia. The new GranCabrio MC Stradale is almost certain to get the same levels of power and torque from the 4.7 litre V8 as the tin-top GranTurismo MC Stradale, which means 444bhp and 376lb/ft of torque delivers through Maserati’s MC Race Shift auto ‘box.

Thu, 02 Oct 2014The Volkswagen XL Sport Concept (pictured) gets Ducati power The Volkswagen XL 1 may well be an impressive ‘Supercar’ (that’s super-economical, rather than plain ‘super’), but it’s a daft amount of money and, unless you’re trying to make a ‘Green’ statement, not for everyone. But this Volkswagen XL Sport Concept is a more appealing car – both visually and mechanically – as VW take the XL 1 and rework it in to a sports car with a little help from Ducati. Because under the skin of the XL Sport lies a 197bhp V2 that’s come from Ducati (just as we reported a year ago) and delivers 197bhp through a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box, with a reduction gear between engine and gearbox to boost torque, revs to 1,000 rpm and can get to 62mph in 5.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 157mph.

With two electric motors mated to the twin-turbo V8 powerplant, BMW claims its new SUV is not only the world’s most powerful hybrid, but also offers a reduction in fuel consumption and emissions over the equivalent petrol-only X6 by around 20%. And all to the ‘joint enhancement of driving pleasure and efficiency’. Mmmm… No – there’s actually two electric motors.
