New old stock. Unused in original box.
Brand:Auto-Lite Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Surface Finish:Original

Here is a current limiting device sold by Auto-Lite back in the 6 volt era.  The box says it will prevent "blue points".

The box makes me think it's from the 30's or 40's, but I don't know for sure.  No returns, please.

The part number on the end of the box is SP-1941A.

The instructions say it can be installed in series on the primary side of the igntion coil, either between the igntion switch and the coil, or between the distributor and the coil.  I'm guessing it is some sort of resistor, but I don't know for sure.

There are little round windows in the housing, and it looks like there is a bulb inside.  I think that is the resistor. Will it light up when the car is running?  It's hard say.  I would not hook it up to anything unless it was in series with an igntion coil.  The little windows could be for viewing or for cooling.

It's old and it's cool!  Don't miss out!!

Tyre warning for drivers heading into Europe

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

BRITISH DRIVERS could face on the spot fines for using the wrong tyres when travelling in Europe this winter. Severe winter weather in many European countries means the normal summer tyres fitted to most UK cars will not offer enough grip for safe driving or braking in icy or snowy conditions. In Germany and some ski resorts, drivers are liable to on-the-spot fines if their car is not equipped with winter tyres or their car becomes stuck in slippery conditions due to the wrong tyres being fitted.
