Here is a rare old pair of accessory lock knobs that have an "automatic" locking feature.

These are made to go on the rear doors of a 4 door car.  The springs are made to pull the lock knob down automatically when the door is closed.  That's what the box says.  I have no idea how well they will work.  No returns, please.

You could leave the springs out and just use the lock knobs.  They are very attractive chromed parts.

The box says they fit Kaiser, Frazer, Plymouth, Dodge, Desoto, and Chrysler.  There are no years listed, but I assume they fit the years that both Kaiser and Frazer cars were sold, which would be 1947-1951.

If you can get these things to work, you'll have something really neat to demonstrate at the shows...

Mazda has unveiled its new 6 saloon at the 2012 Moscow motor show – a nod to the significance of the Eastern European markets for the Japanese car maker. This third-generation Mazda 6 will be the second model in Mazda’s line-up to feature both its suite of innovative SkyActiv drivetrain and chassis technologies and the company’s ‘Kodo – Soul of Motion’ design language. That’s a clunky design title, but the new 6 is anything but - it’s a handsome looking car in our eyes, and takes its riffs from the Mazda Takeri concept first seen at the 2011 Tokyo motor show.

The Ford Fiesta ST3 (pictured) launches The absence of an RS Ford at the moment means lovers of fast Fords have to settle for an ST, rather than a full-fat RS. But it seems that those who do opt for the ST versions of Ford’s cars are willing to pay more to get a bettered specced car, something Ford are happy to accommodate with the launch of a new Fiesta ST model – the Ford Fiesta ST3. Ford are already seeing the vast majority of Fiesta ST buyers opting for the ST2 version (9 out of ten choose the more expensive version) so they’re obviously hoping a big chunk of those buyers will instead now opt for the better equipped – and more expensive – Fiesta ST3.
