Nos Corvette Exhaust Manifold Washers (spacers) Super Rare!!! Free Shipping!!! on 2040-parts.com
Sunnyvale, California, US
If you have a 1964 or newer Corvette (or another Chevy model) with a small block engine that you plan to have professionally appraised or judged, such as at an NCRS or Bloomington event, or if you are just a stickler for accuracy, then you should know that GM used a unique, thick, flat washer or spacer under eight of the exhaust manifold bolts on all small block engines. All of the Corvette catalog companies sell a reproduction washer, but that repro washer is incorrect in multiple ways. The outer diameter of the repro washer is too large, the thickness is too small, and they are zinc plated, or they are made from stainless steel. This is yet another case where the reproduction part is totally wrong.
The photo in this auction shows an incorrect washer at the left, and an NOS washer at the right. Although the difference in outer diameter is not that great, when you see the washers sitting under the head of an exhaust manifold bolt, you immediately see that the repro washer sticks out like a sore thumb. Not only in size, but the zinc plating is an obvious give away that the repros are incorrect.
I have a very limited supply of NOS washers from an original supplier to GM. These NOS washers have the correct thickness (0.127 inches), with correct outer diameter (0.683 inches), and without plating; nor are they the incorrect stainless steel. Note that these washers were only used under the front-most two and rear-most two exhaust bolts on both LH and RH sides. Thus, a total of eight washers are needed for a car.
In this auction you will get a set of 8 NOS washers for the buy-it-now price of $20.00, including free shipping. I have never seen another source for correct washers, so I suggest that you not bother trying to find a source that just does not exist. This is your chance to obtain correct washers, and when my supply is gone, there simply will be no more.
I try to describe as accurately as possible everything that I sell. Ask any questions before you bid. Please take a look at my feedback rating.

Green Car Award Winners – all more polluting than a Porsche 911
Fri, 16 Jul 2010The Porsche 911 Carrera - less polluting than the What Car Green Car Award Winners Earlier today we did a round-up of this year’s What Car Green Car Award winners. Which many find of interest as they believe the right thing to do is buy a car with low CO2 emissions. Regular readers will know that we are not impressed with the obsession with CO2 and want Governments to stop taxing motorists based on the nonsense that CO2 is harmful, and instead base taxation and future objectives for the car industry on what really matters – emissions from cars that are detrimental to health.
