New unused with defects, there are some imperfections in the chrome in one area of the wheel.
Brand:Cragar Wheels Warranty:No Manufacturer Part Number:61614 Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Surface Finish:Chrome

For sale is a new in a Cragar box, never used Cragar S/S wheel,  part number 61614 with defects. It is a 14X6 Vari-Fit wheel so it will fit five lug, 41/2", 43/4", and 5" bolt circles, see pic 8, with the correct length and thread lug nuts.  I classified this wheel as being, "new other" and " New unused with defects",  because it has one spot about six inches long on the chrome center of the wheel with small blisters in the factory chrome job, see pic 10. There is also one small bubble in the chrome on one spoke near the other imperfection. These blemished are not easy to find unless you get the wheel in a glare This wheel has been this way for about 35 years so I don't think it get any worse. I hate to run this wheel down because it is in really nice condition, the bead area is clean enough to eat off of, you can see in pic number 9 it has never been bolted up.  Inside the bead area it is stamped Made in the USA, 14X6  9972 , 2 29 80, so the rim was formed 2/29/1980, I checked and that was the leap day for 1980. I only have one of this part number wheel. This wheel has a 3 13/16 inch back spacing according to my ruler, the wheel is 6 " wide bead to bead, and is 7" wide total, so this wheel puts most of the tire under the car, giving it that flat, no dish look that was the popular style for a front wheel back in the day. You can see in pics 3, 4, and 5  the center cap sticks out past the outer lip of the chrome rim. I had this wheel in my store in the mid eighties, and nineties , and into storage around 2005, so it has been handled a few times , thus the box has been replaced, but the wheel is an 9 1/2 on a ten scale. Cragar always used silver spray paint in the bead and the lug nut areas where the chrome was not applied. This paint is still in perfect condition. This would definitely make a nice "man cave" artifact for an old "gear head" like myself, or replace a damaged wheel in a set. I totally cleaned the wheel and then polished it with Smithbrite to bring out the shine. Cragar used to sell "Cragar Wheel Care" in a spray can to protect the chrome finish, looked and smelled like WD40 to me. A light coat of car wax was another old trick to preserve the chrome finish in bad weather. This wheel still has the correct center cap for the period, the Cragar S/S without the R trademark, as seen in pic number.  Cragar never included the lug nuts. with the SS wheels .This was Cragars third version of the "vari-fit" style wheel. This version uses no adapter ring and relies on an the engineering principle of triangulation. That is to say if you have three lug nuts in place, tightened to specs the wheel will be centered and usable. If spacing was required for disc brakes or drum weights wheel spacers and longer lug nuts will be required. The rear of Cragar S/S style wheels is fairly flat so spacers may be required, rarely for calipers, more for rivets, drum weights, and or concave drums. It is best to trial mount the wheel with no tire to be sure there are none of these items that could prevent the wheel from bolting up flat. In the old days guys would come in the shop and complain about me selling them a warped wheel, we would go outside and look at the car and by darn there would be a drum weight keeping one side of the wheel from bolting up flat. Another tip is to have the tire mounted using the modern, "European clamp style" tire changers, the old post style changers ruined many a Cragar wheel.  If you have any questions about the compatibility of your vehicle and the parts I sell feel free to contact me through eBay. Thanks for looking.

Mazda RX-8 facelift (2008): first official pictures

Sun, 13 Jan 2008

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 13 January 2008 10:47 Mazda’s facelifted RX-8 arrived at the Detroit Motor Show, and it’s more of a mild nip and tuck than a drastic overhaul. Mazda hasn’t suddenly dropped in a V6 or anything like that – so far over 165,000 rotary-engined RX-8s have been sold and Mazda doesn’t want to mess with a recipe that works. That means it’s still a four-door, four seater with 'Freestyle' (suicide to you and me) doors, and a unchanged 1.3-litre turbine engine available in 189bhp and 228bhp states of tune.

Walking on the Edge: Ford blings out 2011 Sport crossover with 22s, blacked-out grille

Wed, 14 Jul 2010

“Dude, that is sick,” a rival designer gushed to Ford's Doyle Letson when the 2011 Edge Sport was revealed at the Chicago auto show last winter. “What does it look like with the real wheels on?” Letson replied, “Those are the real wheels.” The rollers in question are 22-inch forged aluminum wheels with tuxedo-black spoke accents wrapped in Pirelli tires. They look like they're stolen from a SEMA concept, and they're perhaps the single most distinguishing feature on the Sport model, which launches with the rest of the redone Edge lineup later this summer.
