This is a New Old Stock aluminum intake manifold for an early Ford flat head. This manifold was made in 1947 and stored for 69 years, never used, no corrosion. The bottom has not been deburred. It still has the sharp edges around milled surfaces. The other manifold shown, for comparison, is a corroded out 1938 original. They are the same casting except for the “Circle S”, that I assume is for a service part. This could be sanded off and blasted to look like original. I was going to modify it for a 4 bolt carburetor and use on a ‘50s 8BA, but think it is too valuable to molest. |

North East worst for road safety
Tue, 12 Nov 2013THE NORTH EAST of England has the worst rates for deaths and serious injuries on England’s roads according to data from the Department for Transport. In 2012, the number of deaths and serious injuries in the North East increased by 8%, with an extra 65 incidents recorded compared to 854 in 2011. The South East of England, which suffered some of the worst statistics in 2011, is now the most improved region.
BMW 7-series models hit by recall
Mon, 29 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall of 45,500 BMW 7-series sedans in the 2005-2008 model year range. The recall, which has its origins in a NHTSA investigation initiated in August 2011, addresses a software malfunction that may cause vehicles to roll away when parked. A glitch in the BMW Comfort Access keyless-entry and ignition system is responsible for the problem.
