I was considering keeping the last set of NOS center caps for myself but, have decided to finally part with them.  This are EXTREMELY rare and hard to find in this condition!  If you have a set of Spyder wheels then I'm sure you can relate.  These are in the factory box, with the factory mounting screws still sealed in the plastic bag!  I've had these for around 20 years now and had hopes of eventually using them.  But, as time passes, projects and priorities change...so, I'm offering them up to a good home.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I've tried to capture their condition as best as possible.  There are several faint spot on some of the caps (I'd describe as VERY small cloudy spots) that the camera couldn't capture.  My guess is the spots will polish out...but, I'm not about to attempt scrubbing/rubbing/polishing on these (that will be left up to you, the buyer, to decide).  I did lightly clean them off with a glass cleaner and soft cloth but, I refuse to scrub on them and risk damaging the finish.  There are a few little specks of red paint on them...the same red paint that was used to color in the wording on the caps (see close up picture of with my hand in the cap...you can see one of the red paint marks) .  This is only the 2nd NOS set I've ever seen or had in hand and the other set had the same on it.  I'm sure it would come off with a little paint remover, if you wanted it off....but, I'm not messing with them since that's how they came factory.  Also included is the small bag of screws that were provided with the wheels from the factory.  All in all...these things are roughly 44 years old and I doubt you'll ever find another set in better, un-restored, condition.  Most have been damaged over the years due to the fact they extend out past the lip of the rim so, when the wheel is removed from the car, if it falls over on it's face...the tips of the center caps get dented/damaged.

If you have ANY questions or concerns, please ask BEFORE placing a bid.  The reserve is $600 and if they don't bring at least that, I'll keep them (so please don't ask if I'll take less).
I'll cover the cost of FedEx ground within the lower 48 states.  If you would like for it to ship via another method or to another location (outside the lower 48 US states), shipping cost will be up to the buyer.  Last but not least, if you are outside of the US, the declared value will be whatever the selling price is for the caps.  Good luck and happy bidding!

***Just to clarify, this is a set of 4 center caps (not 8).  I took the pictures with a mirror behind the caps, so that you can see both sides of them.***

Saab steps up green drive

Sun, 03 Jun 2007

By Mark Walton Motor Shows 03 June 2007 01:58 Saab goes bio-power crazy Saab is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with a further push into the very topical biofuels arena, and Geneva showcases two new examples of the Swedes' growing green commitment. First is the new 9-3 Biopower, a full range of saloon, estate and convertible 9-3s, all powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine that's been modified to run on both unleaded and E85 (85 percent ethanol, 15 percent petrol). The mechanical changes include hardened valves and valve seats, and a new stainless steel fuel tank and ancilliaries, adding up to what's expected to be a £600 premium in the showroom over the standard 9-3.

Retracing Steve McQueen's Los Angeles in his Jaguar XKSS

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

In 1958, Steve McQueen bought this Jaguar XKSS from a local TV personality who kept it parked in a studio lot on Sunset Boulevard. McQueen cajoled his wife Nellie into writing a check for $5,000 -- today around $40,000 -- and became the third owner of XKSS chassis No. 713, a car that had originally been imported a year earlier by Jaguar North America.
