NOS OEM Austin-Healey Sprite Mk IV / MG Midget Mk III Right Side Black Carpet Section. This is the passenger side carpet section for left hand drive cars. This is obviously an OEM NOS piece. It has the sewn-in rubber heel pad and period mounting snaps. Carpet is stiff from years of being folded but should flatten upon installation. Very rare and perfect for anyone with a period correct original car needing this piece. I have priced it attractively to sell.

New CAFE proposal would add $5,000 to sticker price, dealer group says

Wed, 18 Jan 2012

An Obama administration proposal to nearly double today's fuel economy standards could end up tacking on $5,000 to the sticker price of a new vehicle, a top official with the National Automobile Dealers Association said Tuesday. The proposal, which seeks to raise the corporate average fuel economy to 54.5 mpg by the 2025 model year, would force automakers to adopt costly fuel-saving technologies that could eventually price some buyers out of the new-car market, said Don Chalmers, chairman of NADA's government relations committee. NADA, a dealer trade association, represents 16,000 new-vehicle dealers who operate 32,500 franchises.

Nissan held a little gathering at its Yokohama headquarters two nights before the Tokyo Motor Show opened to celebrate 80 years of building cars. It has been making them longer than any other Japanese manufacturer. CEO Carlos Ghosn, who can do everything except maybe juggle, addressed a crowd of several hundred executives, suppliers, car club members and even some media, giving his remarks in what sounded like pretty good Japanese.
