HERE'S AN NOS DOOR JAMB SWITCH FOR DOME LIGHTS AND/OR KEY BUZZER WITH "M B" STAMPED ON THE PLUNGER END. THESE WERE USED IN THE LATE 1960'S AND EARLY TO MID 1970'S ON MOSTLY CHRYSLER CORP. VEHICLES THAT USED TWO TERMINAL TYPE SWITCHES AND HAD THE LARGER INSTALLATION NUT. SWITCH IS UN-ADJUSTED AND ADJUSTS TO THE PROPER LENGTH WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED AFTER INSTALLATION. THIS NUT IS 3/8" THREAD AND 9/16" HEX. YOU MUST CHECK YOURS TO MAKE SURE IT IS THIS SIZE AND NOT THE SMALLER SIZE. I BELIEVE THESE WERE ALSO USED BY SOME GM VEHICLES, BUT CHECK THE NUT SIZE. ONLY A FEW VEHICLES FROM THAT ERA HAD THE "M B" (WHICH I BELIEVE STANDS FOR MILTON BRADLEY THE SUPPLIER) STAMPED ON THE PLUNGER END. I'VE HAD THIS FOR DECADES AND CAN'T REMEMBER IF IT IS FROM THE ORIGINAL TIME PERIOD OR I GOT IT LATER. NO INDICATION OF USAGE BUT SOME MINOR HANDLING MARKS MAY APPEAR. But change your perspective just a little and it becomes a convincing interpretation of an urban Land Rover. It’s bigger then its predecessor – taller and wider with an extra 4″ in the wheelbase – and it feels a much more grown-up vehicle than it was.

But this isn’t really a concept, it’s the 2011 Honda Civic and it will be on sale in the US by the Spring. Although it’s never particularly sensible to judge a car from a sketch – car companies do like to employ a little artistic license when rendering product yet to be – it seems clear that the 2011 Civic is going to get styling evolved from the Honda CR-Z with a bit of current Civic Type-R aggression thrown in as standard.
