This is a New Old Stock Stewart Warner Oil Pressure gauge. The model number is 691-J. The part number is 6620-528-8270. The box is dated 6/60 and the wrapper is dated November, 1959. This is a real deal New Old Stock large diameter, smooth bezel Stewart Warner gauge with a curved glass lens and crescent moon needle. It really does not get better than this!

I believe this gauge was originally made for Military applications since it has the green bezel. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a small number of these gauges and am keeping a couple for myself. I decided to remove the paint from the bezel on one of the gauges I am keeping and found there is a nice silver finish under the paint that looks to be stainless steel. One of the pictures shown in this listing shows what a gauge looks like with the paint removed from the bezel. I can remove the paint for you if you would like me to but I will have to open the packaging to do so. Removing the paint takes under 5 minutes with some Acetone/nail polish remover and fingernail. The bezel looks to be stainless and a few minutes with a buffing pad on a bench grinder makes the bezel shine like chrome!

This NOS gauge has survived in cool, dry storage since new. It really has everything going for it. This gauge is in its original box. Inside the box, the gauge is sealed in its original bag. This gauge has never had its original sealed bag opened! The gauge has the real glass curved lens and desirable crescent moon needle as shown. You are getting the exact same gauge as shown in the pictures and video with the exception that yours will still be sealed in its original bag! Gauges like this one very rarely come up for sale, don't miss this one or you will be kicking yourself later!

This is your chance to own the Stewart Warner gauge you have been dreaming of for your special car or collection at a great price! Don't Miss Out!

Cars, Culture and the City

Tue, 30 Mar 2010

When you think of American cities associated with the car it is Los Angeles of course that leaps first to mind, thanks mostly to Hollywood, and Detroit second. But New York turns out to have been vital in the history of car design, as I found researching an exhibition Cars, Culture and the City at the Museum of the City of New York as guest curator over the last few months, working with the museums curator architecture and design, Donald Albrecht. The show has just opened, on March 25.

Hypermiling coast to coast - win six months' free fuel!

Thu, 19 Apr 2012

How hard can it be to drive coast-to-coast across Britain on one tank of fuel, they asked? Not very, we said. So we topped up, left Great Yarmouth on the east coast of England and headed on a road trip to Anglesey on the west coast of Wales.

Tue, 13 Apr 2010

Lexus said Tuesday that it was putting a temporary halt to sales of the 2010 GX 460 after Consumer Reports said it found the SUV to be a safety risk and urged its readers not to buy the vehicle until it is fixed. The magazine hasn't branded a vehicle as unfit to buy in nearly 10 years. In a statement, Lexus general manager Mark Templin said Toyota Motor Corp.
