NOS set of 16 FoMoCo original 289 HIPO valve seals. 289K Assembly line original seals were produced with much more valve stem surface area to properly compensate for the high performance applications of the HIPO engine. The second picture is a side by side comparison of the HIPO seal on the left and a standard 289 seal on the right. Toyota has sold all 500 copies of the Lexus LFA supercar that it plans to build. Toyota will build only 20 copies of the 552-hp two-seater per month for a two-year period beginning in December. Each car carries a $375,000 base sticker price.

CONSUMERS who buy second-hand cars are at risk of unwittingly inheriting debts taken out by the previous owner that could end up with their vehicle being seized, Citizens' Advice is warning. The charity said one in five people who reported a problem to it about “logbook loans”, where a person places their car as security against a loan, ended up having their car repossessed – despite not being the one who borrowed the money. Citizens' Advice warned someone who buys a car which is still the subject of an outstanding logbook loan taken out by a previous owner could end up being chased for the debt – leaving them with the choice of making the repayments or having their vehicle repossessed.

MPs call for medicals in whiplash claims

Anyone claiming for whiplash following a crash could be subject to a medical examination before receiving a payout, if MPs get their way. This is a proposal from a report published by the House of Parliament’s transport committee looking at ways to drive down the cost of car insurance.
