Ford Freestyle under investigation for low-speed surges

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the Ford Freestyle wagon for complaints that it surges forward at low speeds. More than 200 complaints have been lodged about the issue, alleging that the Freestyle jumps forward at low speeds even when the accelerator isn't pressed. NHTSA is investigating about 170,000 Freestyles in model years 2005 through 2007.

With the Tokyo motor show now firmly in our rear view mirrors, Honda has made us aware of a new addition to its website that highlights the numerous concepts the Japanese company had on show at the exhibition. Answering the question: ‘ What makes people feel good?' Honda designers take us through each of the seven concepts showcased at the Tokyo show, including the RC-E electric motorcycle; E-Canopy three-wheeled scooter; MotorCompo folding scooter; TownWalker mobility vehicle; AC-X show car; Micro Commuter Concept and the EV-Ster electric roadster. MORE THAN THREE in five people get to work by car or van, with motorised journeys most popular in Wales, according to figures highlighted by the RAC Foundation. While only 29.8% of Londoners reach offices and workplaces by car or van, the figure for Welsh workers is as high as 74.2%. The East Midlands (71.7%) and the West Midlands (71.1%) also have an above-average number of workers who commute by car or van, with the overall average for England and Wales being 62.7%.
