Jaguar at the London motor show 2008
Wed, 23 Jul 2008By James Foxall and CAR reader reporter Jacomoseven Motor Shows 23 July 2008 15:02 After the spate of new Jaguars of late, not to mention a takeover, it should come as no surprise that Jag didn't have much to shout about at the London motor show. Tour of quake zone shows Akio Toyoda 'the depth of destruction'

President Akio Toyoda toured Japan's earthquake disaster zone, including the damaged assembly plant opened there in January, as the world's largest automaker struggles to get a grip on the supplier crisis and resume production. Toyoda's trip on Sunday and Monday took him to Miyagi prefecture, near the epicenter of the killer March 11 quake and an area being positioned by Toyota as its domestic center for small car production.
Vintage cars cross the auction block at Meadow Brook
Sat, 24 Jul 2010An impressive array of gleaming classics crossed the block on Saturday at RM Auctions' Vintage Cars of Meadow Brook sale in a white linen event that showcased the grandeur and glamor of automaking in the Motor City in the early part of the Twentieth Century. The 16 annual auction, held on the eve of the Concours of America at Meadow Brook, is located about a half an hour north of Detroit on the grounds of a mansion where the widow of auto pioneer John Dodge one lived. Unlike the other RM auction, held in an convention hall on the other side of town in the spring, the Meadow Brook event carries an austere demeanor, and the automobiles roll with a similar vibe.
