Qoros GQ3: Chinese rival for the Ford Focus revealed

Sun, 23 Dec 2012

The first of a new range of cars from the Chinese Qoros brand – the Qoros GQ3 – has been revealed ahead of a debut at Geneva 2013. Three months ahead of that reveal Qoros has jumped in with a reveal of their first offering and some details about what it has on offer. Unsurprisingly, the reality is somewhat less exciting to look at than the dynamic-looking teaser image we saw last month. Planned to go on sale in both China and Europe during 2013 the Qoros GQ3 is aimed at young buyers, although why any car company would build a C-Segment saloon and expect young buyers to lap it up in Europe is beyond us.

Porsche to build 918 Spyder

Mon, 21 Mar 2011

Porsche today announced that it will build the 918 Spyder, a road legal version of the 718bhp hybrid sports car that made its debut at the Geneva motor show last year. The company says the hybrid sports car will be limited to just 918 examples and be offered in left-hand drive only in order to ensure exclusivity of the new model. Based on a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque, the 918 Spyder's design DNA is derived from the Carrera GT and Porsche 917 race car as well as the RS Spyder.

Rolls-Royce-designed Santa’s sleigh

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 17 December 2008 14:30 Today CAR has an unusual scoop on our hands – as we publish the Rolls-Royce sleigh. This amazing artwork was produced exclusively for CAR by Rolls designer Andreas Thurner, who perfectly captures the regal magic of a Rolls-Royce driven by a stately Santa. Just check out the Greek temple-style, architectural front end of the sleigh – and the hints of top-end speedboats in the profile.
