Ford’s 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine now going in to 1 in 5 new Fords
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Half the Ford B-Max (pictured) sold get the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine Who’d have thought, just a few years ago, that a 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder engine would become one of the most popular engines in a new car in Europe? But that’s exactly what’s happened with the increasingly impressive 1.0 litre EcoBoost from Ford which, as its power output has increased, has become a more and more popular engine of choice. The little Ford EcoBoost even seems to have persuaded buyers that they should forsake dirty diesel engines for it, and Ford has fitted 120,000 in the first six months of 2014 with almost half B-Max models, a third of Focus and 30 per cent of Fiestas getting the little wonder.
Noble M600 new photos
Thu, 20 Aug 2009Noble has sent us some proper sized image of the new Noble M600 We do love the look of this new Noble, but it is a big risk for the small company from Leicestershire. It is very much uncharted territory for them. They’ve had success building ‘Garden Shed’ cars in the £50-75k range for a few years now, but to suddenly catapult themselves in to real supercar territory with a £200k supercar is a big leap of faith.
Audi Q1 sub-compact SUV in 2016
Mon, 07 Oct 2013The new Audi Q1 will look like a smaller Q3 (pictured) There was a time when saloon cars ruled the car sales charts, but they eventually went out of fashion to be replaced by the more practical hatchback. But, despite the demonising of the SUV by ‘green’ groups, compact SUVs/Crossovbers have become the favourite flavour for car buyers as they seek something practical and with the promise of a bit of go anywhere credentials (even if they are cosmetic rather than mechanical). So it’s no surprise to see cars like the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and Renault Captur starting to grab sales from small hatches.
