Here on this auction is original VW Bug, Beetle, Super Beetle bumpers that fit 1974-1979 bugs.  This is OEM equipment! NOT AFTERMARKET!  This is probably the best set you find on Ebay for sale.  Straight bumpers, no dents or dings.  Nice chrome.  no visible rust.  I won't say these are perfect bumpers or completely spec free of any rust, after all they are 30 years old.  If they were, they'd be advertised as brand new.   (some folks read to much in used parts and I don't want them to be mislead)  However, like I said this is a very nice set suitable for any bug and restoration project.  OEM is good because of the quality of the German parts.  Long lasting and built tuff.  OEM is good for bug shows to show originality.   All impacts included as well in this auction!  These are impossible to come by these days.  And best of all, they are straight and not impacted by any collision or bump.  This allows the bumper to sit straight on the car for a very nice finished look.  Original rubber strips included as well as end caps (note 3 of the 4 endcaps are new).  Also, included is the rubber molds from bumper to car (these are new in the package and high quality).  The rear impacts shocks have been painted and look very nice.  You can paint the front if you desire.  All mounting hardware for impact shocks included (very hard to find).  This kit should satisfy any bug owner.  All parts are long, and heavy so shipping is exactly what I pay.  Feel free to pick up in person for no shipping fees.

Sat, 26 May 2012

A 1933 Alfa Romeo that its owner longed for as a youngster growing up in South Africa took home the "Coppa d'Oro Villa d'Este" honors at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The award is voted on by the attendees at the first day of the event, on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. David Cohen said he often saw the Alfa Romeo 6C GS 6th Series when he was riding his bicycle as a boy in South Africa and could only dream of one day owning the car.

The idea of self-driving cars isn't so farfetched anymore. Even our furloughed bureaucrats think so. But the question now is: whose cars?
