Sat, 12 Mar 2011The Jaguar XKR-S will make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011 Jaguar has revealed that its fastest car in a generation – and its fastest series production car ever – the Jaguar XKR-S is to make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Which has surprised us a bit – we rather expected it to start turning up before that. But in lots of ways it makes sense to have Jaguar’s new Cat with Big Claws making waves on the Goodwood Hillclimb as the Goodwood Festival of Speed is going to be something of Jaguar-fest this year.
Bugatti’s 254mph Veyron Vitesse officially world’s fastest drop-top
Thu, 11 Apr 2013The Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse has been officially confirmed as the world’s fastest open-top production car, having been clocked at 254.04mph. The milestone will be celebrated (naturally) with a limited run of special ‘World Record Edition’ Grand Sport Vitesses (which has been on sale since January 2012), with the commemorative cars sporting orange flashes to the carbonfibre bodywork, and orange wheels. SCCA, IMSA champion joins Survive the Drive
Tue, 06 Dec 2011Bob Sharp, SCCA and IMSA GTU champion, has joined the board of directors of Survive the Drive, an organization aimed at educating teen drivers about auto safety and crash prevention. Sharp joins Sam Posey and John Fitch as representatives from the motorsports world. Survive the Drive began in 1997 in northwestern Connecticut with Skip Barber Driving School instructor Bob Green.
