ITEM DESCRIPTION: Okay, here we have an original GM OEM center console map pocket. This goes inside your console and was designed to hold paper maps, but since most people no longer use them, many use this to hold Kindles, iPad and iPhone type items, etc. The usable INTERIOR space on this pocket is approximately 6.25" across the inside bottom by 7.75" from top to bottom. Across the top is wider, since this tapers at the bottom. Pulled from a 1976 Firebird. Your console is NOT complete without this hard plastic pocket. Did you know that the cheap reproductions of this part is missing the metal tabs that protect and strengthen the fragile plastic mount holes? Something to consider. Pioneer App Radio officially unveiled
Fri, 27 May 2011Pioneer has officially unveiled the App Radio that AutoWeek told you about earlier this month. Now that it's willing to talk, Pioneer claims that the radio and audio system is "the first in-vehicle product designed to utilize the processing power, storage capacity, network connectivity and apps of the iPhone and iPod Touch as the primary source for its information and entertainment capabilities." That does sound a lot like what Mini Connected and, in a more platform-agnostic sense, Ford Sync are doing. Pioneer said it couldn't speak to the similarity of those systems, but Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for Pioneer's car-electronics division, briefed us on installation of the device and what Pioneer is doing to minimize driver distraction.

Drink Driving rules get tougher
Thu, 02 May 2013There’s been talk for some time that the government are planning to reduce the current drink driving limit, but, sensibly, it seems they’ve decided, at least for now, that there’s little to be gained by shooting drivers for having a rum baba for desert. Instead, the rules are to be toughened up to make persistent drink drivers jump through more hoops before they can get their licence back. No longer will it be enough to simply get to the end of their ban, they’ll have to prove they are no longer reliant on alcohol and pass a medical.
