Car Sales On The Rise But Buyers Seek To Pay Less

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

LATEST industry data has shown that car buying is on the increase, however budget-savvy prospective buyers want to pay less for their new wheels. Data from Sainsbury's Bank has revealed that as many as 18% of adults are looking to buy a new car in the months up to and including February 2014. And while this is a healthy 28% increase on those who planned purchases in the last six months, those now thinking about buying are likely to pay averages out at £9,934, which is 3.5% down on the figure for the last six months.

Lincoln MKZ

Tue, 03 Apr 2012

Lincoln has released details and images of the production version of the Lincoln MKZ, first seen in concept form at this year's Detroit auto show. The production MKZ is largely unchanged aside from details such as door handles and larger side mirrors, while Lincoln has retained classic design elements such as the split-wing grille, albeit with a slimmer, sportier twist. Lincoln Design Director Max Wolff says, "The exterior's front graphic is repeated in the dramatic sweep of the new instrument panel, helping tie the interior to the exterior in a harmonious manner." The exterior of the MKZ is characterized by its sweeping roofline which features a 4633mm2 retractable panoramic roof.

At GM, the tail fin is back--but now it's a blade

Tail fins are making a comeback at General Motors Co., although they are a far cry from the saillike appendages of the 1950s. And this time the company is calling them blades. The look, pioneered on the Chevrolet Volt to improve aerodynamics, will appear on other models to boost fuel economy, said Ed Welburn, GM's global design chief.
