Jaguar C-X75: Jaguar’s Hypercar stillborn

The Jaguar C-X75 hybrid hypercar will not go in to production. Jaguar cite the poor economic outlook is behind the decision to scrap the C-X75. But the gas turbines soon bit the dust as Jaguar realised the technology was just not mature enough for a production car, so they replaced the gas turbines with a 1.6 litre turbocharged and supercharged petrol engine charging the batteries that powered the two electric motors, one on each axle.

2014 Toyota Highlanders recalled over seatbelt issue

Toyota has announced a recall of a number of 2014 Highlander SUVs, citing issues with one of the seat belts. Specifically, the seat belt assembly in the middle seat of the third row may not have been properly attached to a floor anchorage during factory assembly. The affected vehicles were built from November 20, 2013, to January 18, 2014.

That's right, the diesel XC70 D5 AWD was chosen as the best vehicle in the police-car fleet in Sweden, even though on this side of the pond, the car is still associated more with ownership of multiple golden retrievers and the school run.
