This is about 1 uncut transponder key with the chip ready to be programmed and inside the plastic head, and the MERCURY logo on the front. The term transponder (short-for Transmitter-responder) means an automatic device that transmits a predetermined message in response to a predefined received signal.These car year, make and models have keys with transponders hidden inside the plastic head of the key. The owner of the car may not even be aware that the transponder is there because there are no buttons to press. When a key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder and turned, the car's computer sends a radio signal to the transponder. Unless the transponder replies with a valid code, the computer will not allow the engine to be started. Transponder keys have no battery; they are energized by the radio signal itself. Faulty airbags cause recall of 3.4 million cars
Thu, 11 Apr 2013Toyota, Honda and Nissan are recalling more than 3 million vehicles made between November 2000 and March 2004 for faulty airbags from parts supplier Takata, Automotive News reported on Thursday. So far, 1.73 million Toyotas, 1.14 million Hondas, and 480,000 Nissans are involved in the recall. But the report from Automotive News suggests Takata also supplied other manufacturers with the same airbags.
