Audi Q3: Production starts in Spain

Tue, 07 Jun 2011

Audi Q3 - production has started in Spain The Audi Q3 is the latest niche-filler from Audi, another soft-roader to mop up the seemingly endless queue of buyers wanting something high-riding and rufty-tufty. And if that high-riding something that’s a little rufty-tufty just happens to have a decent badge attached and comes complete with plenty of grown-up toys, so much the better. Which is why Audi has high expectations of its new Q3, with the SEAT plant in Martorell, Spain gearing up to churn out as many as 100,000 Q3s a year.

Land Rover has also replaced the ‘L A N D  R O V E R’ lettering on the bonnet to read ‘D I S C O V E R Y’ as the move to highlight the Discovery as a range of models to stand alongside Range Rover starts to take shape ahead of the new Freelander (which will be part of a new Discovery family of cars) and the eventual replacement for the Discovery 4.

Ian Callum’s hot-rod love affair: his 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Coupe

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

By Tim Pollard Motoring Issues 28 August 2014 16:32 Jaguar design director Ian Callum unveiled his new-for-2014 Mk2 today – but this is far from his first hot-rod influenced car. Back in February 2007, CAR ran a beautiful seven-page feature on Callum’s own project at the time: a lovingly restored 1932 Ford hot-rod. He’s been a fan of the rodding scene forever and back in 2001 he met Jon Golding of Home Grown Hot Rods.
