Hennessey Performance upgrades the Ford Mustang Boss 302

The tuner guys at Hennessey Performance took the Ford Mustang Boss 302 behind their curtain, plopped a supercharger on top--among other things--and headed to the drag strip. The outcome? Hennessey says 11.9 seconds at 124 mph for the quarter-mile--and that's with a 0-to-60-mph time at a Porsche-like 3.9 seconds.

Volvo makes breakthrough in battery tech

Volvo has developed a new way of ‘storing’ energy for its future electric vehicles. The Swedish firm is exploring the concept of lightweight structural energy storage components made from carbonfibre, containing “nano structured batteries and super capacitors.” This technology is said to offer a lighter, more compact solution to the problem of energy storage, potentially removing the need for the heavy, bulky batteries used in current electric vehicles. Spada Codatronca Monza

Taking center stage today at the Top Marques show, Monaco, was the Spada Codatronca Monza. Essentially a roofless, hardcore track focused version of the 2007 Coupe, the Monza is a pure sports car. Penned by Ercole Spada, the Monza is a light weight sports car that retains the taught, angular surfacing of the coupe and familar aggressive DRG and tapered rear but loses all forms of weather proofing in the name of weight.
