 Old Brass Galley Pump

Got this in a mixed lot of marine items I picked up from an estate sale. Tried it out and it works well. Been quite some time since it was used in a boat so I suggest a good clean before using for potable water. Be sure to use the correct grease for the rubber seal on the piston. You want one safe for drinking water and one that doesn't eat the rubber. Ask at your local ship chandler.

Has the usual nicks and scrapes of old brass. Could use a good polish before you clean it

Diameter at bottom is 1-1/4" that narrows to about 5/8" before the threaded bit of the brass fitting for the copper water line that is needed. Size is approx, eyeballed.
I imagine one could also use this as a bilge pump on a small boat.

I notice that there is another pump very similar to this one up now on eBay for much more. Looks to be made by the same manufacturer if one looks very closely.

Honda shows off Concept C and Concept S at Beijing motor show

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

Alongside the Chinese introduction of its new ILX and RDX, Honda rolled out two concept vehicles that the company says presage new models to hit the Chinese market. The “C” in “Concept C” apparently stands for “cool,” “challenge” and “China,” which is er, um, iffy, but at least it's a departure from Honda's as-of-late anodyne exterior design. Though it rather closely resembles a late-model Hyundai dressed up in Super Sentai garb, Honda claims that the C's design was inspired by a dragon.
