Further cleanout of surplus vintage cars and parts: This particular auction is for a brand new (used on idle for 10 minutes max) Mondello/Engle camshaft and hydraulic lifter kit as shown. Correct fitment to the Oldsmobile 442, Cutlass, F85 cars with 455 engines and probably more models and years. We recently started the engine in our 1971 Olds 442 455 engine that was rebuilt by a custom engine rebuilding shop. This cam was in it. I am 75 and want a SMOOTH idle and was unhappy with the lumpy idle of this cam so we pulled it out and installed a closer to stock Howards cam. I am happy now with the perfectly smooth idle - if you don't mind a lumpy idle then this may be exactly what you are looking for at a bargain price. The engine was run for no more than 10 minutes, if that. Mondello part numbers are JM20-22 - look up the specs on the internet. The entire set will be sent to you packaged in the Howard cam box as shown. The lifters are all marked and indexed to each camshaft lobe that they were mated to. Better to have good originals rather than cheap Chinese reproduction junk. I combine shipping and charge actual postage cost only. THE POSTAGE LISTED IN THE AUCTION IS ONLY A GUESS AND RARELY IS CORRECT. YOU WILL BE SENT AN INVOICE WITH THE CORRECT POSTAGE AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS AFTER I PACK AND WEIGH YOUR PURCHASE. If you didn't bother to read this and paid for the auction you will be refunded some postage if you paid too much - on the other hand you will be charged any additional postage if you underpaid. Best to wait until you are sent an invoice; saves me time. I usually send the invoice out the morning after the auction ends. At times there may be a small handling/packing charge if it is a difficult item. (large, heavy, etc). I ship immediately following receipt of payment. Everything is described in detail to the best of my ability with good photos and it is the responsibility of the bidder to determine reasonable values commensurate with condition. After selling some of the highest quality and hardest to find car parts on ebay for over 19 years I have retired and am winding down and selling off the last of my vintage parts. Most of them have been in the garage for 50 years or more and their "condition", even though the part might be new old stock does not necessarily mean that it looks like it was made yesterday. Keep in mind that there may be some (and may not) minor flaws (surface rust, nicks, etc) simply from age and many years of storage.

AW Design Forum: Style remains key as transportation systems evolve
Thu, 14 Jan 2010The entire way Americans view transportation is going to change, predicts industry expert David Muyres, and designers will be key in making new methods of mobility desirable. Speaking at the AW Design Forum on Thursday morning in Detroit, Muyres said transportation needs to be looked at as a complete system, where cars, cities and technologies--such as the electrical grid--all interact. But for this to work, the cars need to remain exciting, said Muyres.
Car Insurance ‘Black Box’ a good idea? We find out.
Sun, 30 Dec 2012We’ve been testing a new ‘Telematics’ App from Confused.com which mimics the ‘Black Box’ technology insurers are offering in an attempt to make car insurance cheaper. The inexorable rise and rise of car insurance premiums is a fact of life, and will continue until government gets a handle on ambulance-chasing lawyers and the UK’s idiotic whiplash claims industry. But if you’re looking to find a way to cut your insurance premiums, then having a ‘Black ‘Box’ fitted to your car to monitor your driving so you get charged for how much – and how well – you drive looks a promising idea.
Renault Alpine A110-50 to be developed with Caterham
Tue, 02 Oct 2012It seems the impressive Renault Alpine A110-50 is heading for production with Caterham, not Lotus, as development partner. Which is part of the reason Renault want a partner on-board to help with development and production of the Renault Alpine A110-50 – a new Alpine based on a Megane platform with a DeZir body – and turn it, hopefully, from a track concept to the first Alpine for the road in twenty years. It had been mooted that Renault were eyeing up Lotus to partner on the Alpine A110-50, but according to a report from Autocar they are instead working with Caterham to bring the A110-50 to life.
