New Ignition Lock cylinder with Keys.

For: 1999 thru 2004 - Oldsmobile Alero

This is a new lock from the same company that made them for General Motors (Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile & Hummer).  This is not a knock-off from China.   Made by STRATTEC Security Company.   That is why our locks are cheaper in price - but not in quality!

• Dealer price is over $221 for the parts!  If you were to buy these (Lock, Tumblers, Springs & Keys) from the dealer it would still need to be assembled.  We have done that already for you and supplied matching keys.  All you need to do is install the lock and leave it in the "ON" position for 12 minutes to self-program.

• We have an excellent rating on eBay and offer free shipping through the US Postal Service, using First Class Mail.

Where did the word 'automobile' come from?

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

On Jan. 3, 1899, the New York Times printed the word "automobile" upon its austere pages. It wasn't the first publication to do so; Scientific American used the phrase "automobile carriage" in a May 14, 1898, review of the Winton Motor Carriage, but the Grey Lady -- a more influential publication -- was the first to debate the term.
